Vegan 1st; Fresh Figs

I've never had a fresh fig before, so when I saw them for sale in a little local shop, I grabbed this beauty.

It was a whole new taste experienced; it was comparable to Pomegranate and not too distant from their dried forms, the skin is soft like a peach but filled with seedy fruit.

I will buy more of these and experiment with them in fruit and vegetable salads, but in terms of cost it’s better to use dried figs for cooking.

  1. Oh yum, I've never eaten a fresh fig "straight up" before but I've had them cooked & I love them like that.
